Liposuction Tummy Tuck      Liposuction tummy tuck, also known as lipoabdominoplasty, is a new technique in tummy tuck surgery.  This procedure has a lower complication rate and faster recovery time than the traditional tummy tuck.  This technique combines liposuction and various tummy tuck practices in order to reduce the amount of surgical trauma and dissection necessary to acheive beautiful results.  Additionally, with liposuction tummy tuck, a dense layer of lower abdominal wall connective tissue, Scarpa's fascia, is left intact.  Preservation of these natural tissues during liposuction tummy tuck provides patients with a faster recovery time, fewer days with drains in place, lower incidence of blood and fluid collections, and less risk of tissue loss.   

Liposuction is a rapidly evolving procedure in the field of cosmetic surgery with more variations being performed today than ever before.  The art of liposuction can be practiced using many different techniques, types of cannulas, and various machines including Vaser, SmartLipo, and BodyJet.  Depending on the desired results, liposuction can be performed in a very superficial, moderate, or deep level of fat.  Lipoetching utilizes a comination of superficial and moderate liposuction to provide the appearance of well-defined muscles while body sculpture and liposculpture use a combination of superficial, moderate, and deep liposuction to improve the shape of the body.  These and other techniques are used on a daily basis by the Plastic Surgery Center of Tampa and will be discussed in greater detail in the paragraphs to follow.
