The tummy tuck, the way I see it, is an opportunity for me to show how I could change the body. What I want to do when I do a tummy tuck is I do several things. And what I like to do is to end up with an incredible body. To do that, I do three-dimensional body sculpture along with my tummy tuck. The so-called lipoabdominoplasty. And the way it's done is by sculpturing the body in three dimensions. Everywhere around, going to the flanks and even going somewhere in the back.
By doing that, I'm getting a curvy, nice silhouette. Another thing that I do is the incision, it's a low incision. It's so low and short, but especially low. It's only 5 centimeters from the labial commissure. In other words, you could wear very low-cut jeans, like a Brazilian jeans, and still not see your incision or a bikini. Another thing, and specifically last year, where we're concentrating is to reduce the size of incision.
The incision now is about 15 to 17 centimeters. It's small. It's just a little bit longer than a C-section scar. And what that does is that allows patients to wear a two-piece, a bikini, and look spectacular. That is the main difference. Liposuction on abdominoplasty or tummy tuck, it is very valuable. It has to be done, in my opinion. And the reason is because you will have a straight, cylindrical body at the end of the tummy tuck if you don't do liposuction. Because of because of the nature of the surgery, you're pulling the anterior abdominal wall and then you're making the body straight. By adding liposuction, the tummy tuck will end up with just a spectacular shape and nice contour, including the back.
When you look at patients that had a tummy tuck, what I do after a tummy tuck, and I look at the pictures, they have a nice silhouette including the buttocks is improved. Even though I don't touch the buttocks, but I have removed some of the love handles, and the sculpture of the body such as they have an excellent and beautiful curvy body at the end of the procedure all the way around. I'm talking about 360 degrees, they look so much better. So liposuction is an essential part of tummy tuck.
