In this Dr. Jaime Perez profile, we take a closer look at a surgeon who concentrates primarily on body sculpting and body contouring procedures. With many years of experience, he understands the importance of approaching each patient as a unique case, with a focus on helping them achieve their ultimate goals. During his spare time, Dr. Perez enjoys spending time with his family, and taking part in a variety of outdoor activities.
I went to medical school at Rutgers University in New Jersey. I finished and then I did a general surgery training before I became a plastic surgeon. Following that, I did an extra year of microsurgery and then subsequently I started a private practice in Tampa, Florida. That was in the year 2000. Since then, I've been concentrating and essentially developing a body sculpture, body contour.
The most satisfying aspect of my work is to witness a transformation of somebody's body and somebody's life. I have seen progress within a few weeks or few months and being able to follow that individual in how progressively after surgery they achieve what they wanted to, to achieve meaning a beautiful sculpture and a great self-esteem. Everybody has a different body. No operation is same, even though it's supposed to be one operation. But every patient because there are differences in every single patient, every day is a different operation for me because it's a different person. And I don't mean slightly different.
When I am not operating and working, I'm spending time with my family, my children, specifically and exercising. I love outdoor activities. Tampa is great place to be up in the water and that's what I do. I want my patients to know that what they're going to get from me is honesty. If I tell them that I am going to change their life, that I'm going to make a significant change in their body, I will. Otherwise, I'm not going to commit to the surgery on them.
